Review: Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette! (+ Comparison to the Original!)

Chocolate Galore!

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Too Faced released the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette just in time to curb my sweet tooth haha. The colors seemed so stunning and right up my alley. I love my original Chocolate Bar Palette, I use it all the time because it's so easy to create some looks with it! At first glance they didn't seem too different from each other but I'm happy to report that they are! So if you're thinking about getting it I'll save you a little time and suggest you get it! If you're wanting more details and swatches stay tuned :-)
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
The packaging is oh so cute! Looks just like a chocolate bar, lighter than the original palette. It's the same size as the re-release of the first palette, thin and compact! It retails for $49 (less than Urban Decay!) and I purchase mine from Sephora. It's now available on the Too Faced website too!

Something Too faced added to this palette that the first one didn't have were names! I was super stoked to see them because it makes our life so much simpler haha.

Make sure to click on the pic to enlarge! Here's a closeup of the colors, love'm. The overall palette seems to be warmer and deeper in tone which is unique from my other palettes! There's a ton of more mattes in this one too. Off the bat I can tell which colors will end up being my ultimate favorites *cough* Peanut Butter *cough* haha. I love the golden tones the bigger shadows have, makes my brown eyes pop. Let's get into swatches:
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
This is the left side of the palette swatched exactly how the shadows are laid out. Off the bat Rum Raisin catches my eye! It's a beautiful taupe with plum tones... so different. Mousse is a great blending shade, buttery just like Too faced does best! Now... Pink Sugar is an interesting shade. It's pretty much pink shimmer flecks that you can use an eyeshadow topper. It doesn't swatch the best but it does look pretty over some darker shades for a hint of sparkle.
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Here's the right side of the palette... my favorite! Nougat is the perfect transition shade, such a pretty matte beige-pink! Under that we have Blueberry Swirl which is truly amazing! I must say, it's not the most pigmented but for the pop of color I really enjoy it. You can definitely build it up. I just love that shade of blue and it pairs so well with the warm browns in this palette. To the right of that we have Peanut Butter which is literally my favorite from the entire palette! It looks bad ass in the crease! No other way to say it ;-)
Here's a comparison of both the palettes.Slightly obssessed huh? haha.
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

You can see that they're significantly different from each other. I love the metallic shades from the original Chocolate Bar Palette. I strongly feel that the stand out shades in the Semi Sweet Palette are the mattes! They are so smooth, so pigmented... everything you want a matte to be!
Review: Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
This is the look I wore for Christmas Eve :-) Just a simple gold lid but the colors looked amazing together!

Bottom line: If you love warm, sultry colors make sure to pick up the Semi Sweet Palette! I can't pick a favorite because I'm obsessed with both palettes but for different reasons. Too Faced is running the eyeshadow game, they're recent releases have been amazing and this one is no exception! The shadows are just awesome quality and c'mon... they smell like chocolate! The scent isn't really a selling point for me this time around but it's a plus haha. Hopefully you found the comparison helpful! :-)

Swatches: E.L.F Studio Moisturizing Lipsticks! (New Colors!)

Three New Shades!

E.L.F Studio Moisturizing Lipsticks
I'm truly excited for this post! Eyes Lips Face released three NEW colors within their Studio Moisturizing Lipstick line and they are crazy beautiful! I've reviewed these last year when they first released and loved them! Just to quickly describe them, they are: creamy, hydrating, vanilla scented and wears decently! These are only $3 each, super affordable. These new colors are to die for btw!

The packaging also changed since I first reviewed them and it's WAY better haha. It's a lot sleeker looking and I love the color indication on the bottom of the tube.

Here are the swatches! You can tell how creamy this product is just by the swatch. Plus, it's pretty opaque in 1-2 swipes! It feels amazing on, very hydrating so this would be a great product for the winter time. Let's get into lip swatches :-)
E.L.F Studio Moisturizing Lipsticks
*Wine Tour- a gorgeous wine- burgundy shade! This one is my my favorite and a must have for sure!
*Crazy Cranberry- a berry red shade, really pretty as well! They have a cranberry shade in their matte line too but if you prefer a glossy finish this is the one for you.
*Orange Dream- a true orange... pretty scary I wont lie! haha. I love how saturated the color is but honestly it's not the most flattering. It's a great color to have for Halloween and such.

These are the three new shades! If you like what you see make sure to place your order on eyeslipsface.com :-)

Review: Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color in DJ Doll!

New From Wet n Wild!

Today I have a review on the NEW Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Colors in DJ Doll! I found a full display of all the new items from Wet n Wild at Walgreens...except for the eyeshadows. I really want those palettes haha but lets focus on this lippie for now. They retail for about $3.50 each, not bad! I've been loving a matte lip lately so I was excited to give it a try but sadly I must report that it didn't work out.
I only picked one just to test out even though the shades were all beautiful. I'm trying to push the vampy colors aside and start picking up more spring-like shades which explains this coral one. To start off it has a very unpleasant scent. I can't describe it but it's kinda sour. Secondly, these are a twist up pencil but no need for that since my lipstick completely broke and slides right out the tube. It's pretty creamy which is probably why that happened but c'mon...
Lastly, it's such a greasy formula. I personally didn't get a matte finish whatsoever from this product.
You can see in the swatch that it has a glossier finish which is a bit misleading. It also has shimmer that transfers onto the lip. It's sheer-ish wash of color which I wasn't expecting. Overall, I just wasn't a fan.
It goes on a bit patchy too. Ugh.. it sucks because this would've been a pretty color if the formula was better.

Bottom line- I would pass on this color. I only tried one and it doesn't make me wanna try anymore. Maybe the other colors are better. If you've tried them, what are your thoughts? It's been a while since I've disliked a product this much but it's part of the trial and error process! :-)
