Review: bh Cosmetics Wild & Alluring Baked Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette! (Swatches + Looks!)

All-in-One!

bh Cosmetics Wild & Alluring Baked Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette
bh Cosmetics released the Wild & Alluring Baked Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette and it is gorgeous! The palette screams summer and it's $9 right now! Apart from being baked the eye shadows are also marbleized which makes them look so cool on. It comes with a beautiful coral blush and a bronze highlight (more of a bronzer on my skin tone) which adds a beautiful sheen to your face. Overall this palette is pretty darn nice! Lest get into more details shall we? ;-)

Here's the palette layout! I know I know, I have a broken shadow but no worries, I figured out how to press it back and it's good as new!

I swatched the colors over primer so you can see that the color payoff is really good. Since it's a baked palette you can wear the shadows wet or dry. On the looks below I used the colors wet and I was OBSESSED! I love metallic/foiled shadows and these were so easy to work with. Plus I didn't notice any creasing! I don't tend to wear shimmer shadows in my crease but I gave it a shot since I wanted to create a one palette look and I really liked it!

Bottom line: This is a great summer palette! bh's baked shadow formula is really good, definetely a must try! I love the colors and the versatility of the palette. The price is unbeatable too! Two thumbs up from yours truly! :-)

Review: E.L.F Studio Baked Eyeshadow Trios!

Stunning Shadows!

 E.L.F Studio Baked Eyeshadow Trios
I'm a huge fan of the E.L.F baked eyeshadows so when they released these trios I was super excited! The colors were so pretty in the pan and even prettier when swatched. Just like other baked shadows you can use these wet or dry so it's really versatile. For only $4... it's a steal. Now, on the E.L.F website there's a "limited quantities available" alert so if it's something you'd like make sure to order it before it's gone! There's four trios available and I have all four to review for you :-)

The packaging is simple, just like the other baked shadows. I'm really happy that the the shadows are individually large enough for you to get your brush in, sometimes brands miss that and it becomes a mess. I also love how they look when used wet! The color payoff is awesome when used that way and gives a lot of dimension to your look. Over primer they last all day with no issues, pretty good for $4 right? Here are the swatches:
 E.L.F Studio Baked Eyeshadow Trios
*Peach Please- I'm in love with the center shade, so beautiful all over the lid! The brown leans more on the bronze side, perfect for deepening up the look. The lighter shade is a pretty yellow gold color, not the most pigmented but can still be used as a brow bone highlight! :-)

*Brown Bonanza- just look at that copper gold... another one I love!  So pigmented and smooth, really great formula! The brown in this trio is not as metallic as the rest, more of a satin finish which is great for blending with a light hand. The lighter shade leans more of champagne color, lacks in pigmentation but can be used over the brown for a nice sheen.

*Lavender Love- even though I don't wear purple shadows too often I still love them! This trio is really nice but the most powdery of the bunch. I did experience some fall out with the first two shades but a sticky base would fix it. The lightest shade is my favorite in this trio, it's like a taupe-lavender, really unique!
*Smoky Sea- this trio truly impressed me! I don't tend to wear blues but the color combo in this trio is so in sync. I was inspired immediately when I saw a fellow blogger create a smokey eye with this trio and it was stunning! All the colors are nice in pigmentation, no complaints with this one.

Bottom line: These trios are great! I really enjoy the baked formula and how you can control how bold you want your look to be. I would skip on the Lavender Love because it wasn't up to par with the rest of them. Other than that they are great quality and something that's worth every penny. I hope they're still available for purchase!  :-)

Review: bh Cosmetics Wild & Free Baked Eyeshadow Palette!

Amazing Metallic Shades!

bh Cosmetics Wild & Free Baked Eyeshadow Palette
I'm really excited about today's post because it's full of unique colors that are... baked! An all baked eyeshadow palette? Awesome! I've been testing it out for a few weeks now and I can truly say its a great asset to my makeup collection. I have two of the palettes and there's three in total in this collection,,. I'm actually debating if I should order the third one haha, it's that good! These shadows feel like silk on your fingers and with just one swipe you have BAM! pigmentation. The packaging is also adorable!

The packaging is a thick cardboard with a magnetic closure, pretty sturdy! All of the palettes come with nine gorgeous shades to fit a theme. This palette is the Wild & Free one, full of blues and greens and bits of neutrals that pair so well together! You get so much product in this palette, that's something I definitely want to point out! Each eyeshadow is about the size of  a quarter.

I was a firm believer that these types of palettes don't work without a matte shade to create depth. But... this palette kinda changed my mind. I created an all shimmer/metallic look and it turned out really great! Over primer all the colors looked very bold and stunning. These can be used wet or dry depending on your preference, I really enjoy how versatile this palette is!

All of the swatches glided on so smooth and nicely pigmented. I'm very impressed with this palette!

Bottom line: I left the price for last; it retails for $19.95 but I purchased mine on sale for only $8.95! It's such a bargain for the amount of product that you get plus they perform so well! Other baked shadows have lots of fall out but that's something I didn't experience with this palette which is a plus. Can you imagine how many exotic looks you can come up with?... I can't wait to play around with it some more! Always check bhcosmetics.com because they are notorious for having great sales! ;-)

Review: ELF Baked Eyeshadows!

Best Single Shadows!

ELF Baked Eyeshadows

If you're like me you tend buy palettes over single eye shadows. You get more for your buck and it's convenient to have everything in one place. But... I was curious to try some single shadows so I ordered the ELF Baked Eye shadows. I heard a lot of great things about these so I was excited to test them out. They're only $3 but I was able to get them on sale so they were only $1.50!
The packaging is super simple and compact. The last thing you want is something that's difficult to store away haha. You get a lot of product for the price so I find that these are worth it! They are highly pigmented and smooth! They look beautiful on and I find that you an create a "one eyeshadow look" with these. I actually would compare these to Urban Decay shadows. The pigmentation is comparable and some shadows resemble a few from previous Urban Decay palettes!
I've tried some other shadows from ELF but I wouldn't recommend those. I've tried the single shadows from their studio line and those are not as good. The $1-$2 palettes from their Essential line are a hit or miss too. I haven't had any problems when using these baked shadows. They look amazing straight from the pan or foiled with a bit of water. I tried the baked eye shadow palettes from ELF but they are horrible! They are not pigmented what so ever so I would pass on those and just buy your favorite colors in the single form! Here are the swatches of the ones that I own:
ELF Baked Eyeshadows

These are the swatches over primer! They look amazing! :-)
From left to right:
*Toasted- A bronze/gold color (my favorite!)
*Passion Purple- A bright purple
*Burnt Plum- A brown shade with a burgundy tone
* Pixi- A light pink color

Bottom line: I would recommend these! If you just want to put a wash on color on your lids on those days that you need to be out the door these are perfect, specially Toasted! You don't have to put to much thought when using these. Instead of being overwhelmed with all the colors in a palette you just use one of these and you'll still look like you spent some time on your make up! The color selection is great and for the price I would recommend to try a few! You can order these from their website or purchase them at Walmart or Target. I can't wait for ELF to release some new colors! :-)
