Swatches: Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks!

My New Vice!

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks
If you haven't heard Urban Decay reformulated, repackaged and is releasing 100 lipsticks! Yup. It's happening haha. Urban Decay is calling them the Vice Lipsticks which is the perfect name because I know I'm gonna get addicted! ;-)
The 100 lipsticks are made up of new and old shades in six different finishes. I was so excited when I checked my mail the other day and I had a gift from Ulta. They sent me a sample card with 24 of their favorite shades! It was divided into three color groups: Purple-Pinks, Red-Oranges and Nude-Pinks. I decided to swatch the nude-pink colors today so you can see what some of the colors look like. Let's get into the swatches!
Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks
Here are the color descriptions:
Conspiracy- (metallized) a plum bronze shimmer. Such a cool, dimensional shade! I'm considering getting the full size because it's so unique. I didn't feel any shimmer on my lips.

Rapture-(cream) a dusty rose. This color was part of the revolution line which I already own. It's a beautiful shade, great for everyday.

Amulet- (metallized) a metallic brick rose. This color had some dimension but it wasn't as metallic as Conspiracy. I didn't find the color too flattering on me.

ZZ- (cream) a soft pink-purple. I love this one!! It was so creamy and so pigmented. The color is stunning and I already ordered the full size haha.

Naked- (cream) a nude-pink. This color is very essential because it pairs so well with any makeup look. It was also part of the revolution line.

Backtalk- (comfort matte) a mauve-nude pink. This is a comfort matte formula which is suppose to be Urban Decay's creamiest matte and it's right on. It went on so nicely and it felt very comfy and thin but with great color payoff.

Stark Naked- (comfort matte) a light nude. Very comfortable but definetely not a shade I gravitate towards. It looks too concealer-y for my liking.

Gubby- (metallized) a frosted light pink. This one went on fairly sheer. I find it to be more of mixing shade or a lip topper because it doesn't look like much alone.

Hope these swatches were helpful! I'm giving my lips some TLC after all these lip swatches haha. I'm thinking about swatching the other colors in the sample card so stay tuned for that. I'm so excited for this new Vice line and these will be $17 which is more affordable than the old lipsticks and when compared to other brands at Ulta. Definetely check them out! :-)

Review: Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette! (Swatches + Look!)

Day To Night Palette!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
I said to myself...I don't need it! But somehow it ended up in my Sephora shopping cart! haha. I've had this palette for a few weeks now and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. Before I do let's into some basics! It retails for $54 and it comes with 12 smoky neutral eyeshadows. Nine shadows are never before seen shades and three exclusive shades from past palettes. They're divided into "quads" which is a unique touch compared to the other Nakeds!
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
This is the first group of shadows which are the metallics. They are really pretty shades, a nice mix between warm and cool.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
The next group are the satins! This is where the palette starts getting smoky! I love the gunmetal tones in this quad and the pop of purple.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
The last quad is the mattes which are so nice! They are all smooth and buttery... I was so impressed! I really wished they had added a medium chestnut brown for blending but I've been mixing Whiskey & Combust so it's OK.

Here's a look I came up with using a few of the grey shadows and I love how it came out! It's simple enough for daytime and can be smoked out even more for the night time!
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Bottom line: This is a really nice palette! It's different for me but I love being pushed out of my comfort zone. I prefer warm shadows but I'm learning to love the cooler ones too! The look above came out so pretty and I can't stop playing with this palette. Now that fall is here I'll definitely be rocking this palette and a vampy lip... BOOM! ;-)

Must Haves: Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks! (Matte 1993 & Matte Bittersweet!)

Best Matte Formula!

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks
You guys know that my favorite matte lipsticks are the Maybelline Creamy Mattes...these may be just a little bit better! haha. The Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks are pretty much amazing! They retail for $22 ( I know... I know!) but they are totally worth it. The colors I chose are so unique to my collection and the formula is just superb. How so? Let's get into that! ;-)
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks
The packaging is so cool like pretty much all Urban Decay products. They feel and look expensive which I can appreciate (treat yo self!).
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks
I instantly picked 1993 because it looked so different, it's a medium brown with a hint of grey and I love it! I actually found a drugstore dupe for it, if you'd like to know more on that make sure to check out this post! :-)
Bittersweet was the other one that caught my attention. It's a gorgeous bright cooler purple, not too pink nor too dark... just right!
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipsticks
Here are some lip swatches! Similar to the Maybelline Creamy Mattes the formula is so smooth, pretty much glides on like butter. What makes this formula better is the color payoff. One time around the lips and you have full on color without being patchy whatsoever! I was so impressed by that and the best part is that they last a good 4-5 hours. They never leave my lips feeling dry, my lips actually feel really hydrated throughout the day. This is the most comfortable formula in the matte lippie world that I've tried!

I hope they release more colors in the future because I need a few more in my life haha. I'm really excited about this line and highly recommend them! :-)

Dupe Alert: Drugstore Alternatives Of Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Rapture!

Another Look For Less!

Drugstore Alternatives Of Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Rapture
If you've been eyeing the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour in Rapture but you don't wish to splurge look no further! I have a two drugstore dupes to share with you that will give you the same look for less! :-) I adore Rapture, it seems scary in the pan but on the skin it's everything. It pairs so well with most makeup looks and honestly I can't put it down. It does retail for $26 but I'm so excited about the dupes I discovered within my collection because they're affordable and spot on!
Drugstore Alternatives Of Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Rapture
So the dupes to rapture are most likely blushes you already own! The first blush is swatched on the top and it's the E.L.F Studio Blush in Berry Merry. Rapture and Berry Merry are in the same color family, the only difference is that Berry Merry has some shimmer while Rapture has more of a satiny glow. The shimmers aren't visible on the cheeks, they look so similar on! E.L.F studio blushes are only $3 so you can't beat it.

The second blush is the most similar in finish and it's swatched at the bottom. It's the Covergirl Cheekers Blush in True Plum and it's less than $5! They both leave a beautiful, angelic sheen on your cheeks! I love the formula of the Cheekers line, they're smooth and blend very nicely. Out of the two this is my favorite dupe.
Drugstore Alternatives Of Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Rapture
Here's what Rapture looks like on. The Urban Decay formula is so nice! It would take a sale for me to purchase more from the line because they can get expensive real quick haha. For this reason I love to search for possible dupes so I can enjoy the color without dishing out all my cash. I hope this post was helpful if you had your eye on Rapture, definetely check out these alternatives! :-)

Dupe Alert: Drugstore Dupe Of The Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1993!

Splurge or Save?

Drugstore Alternative For Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1993
Urban Decay recently released a whole new matte line within their Revolution Lipsticks and they are outstanding! Being the makeup lover that I am and bargain lover at that I decided to look through my lippies and I actually found a pretty close dupe to 1993! I'm so excited for this post because on the lips the two are super similar! $6 VS $22... you decide! ;-)
Drugstore Alternative For Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1993
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1993 is such a cool color that I thought it would be difficult to dupe but Madeline's Color Sensational The Buffs Lipstick in Touchable Taupe is in the same color family! They both have that gray, cooler undertone which is trending right. The difference between the two is the finish. Touchable Taupe isn't a matte but with a bit of powder you can matte it out. Maybe you prefer a cream finish? Touchable Taupe is a great choice...Maybelline is the best at drugstore lipsticks! :-)
Let's get into swatches!
Drugstore Alternative For Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1993
1993 is on the top and Touchable Taupe on the bottom. Pretty close huh? This is what they look like on:
The Urban Decay formula is superb! For being a matte it feels amazing on the lips. I'll have a review on the lippies I own from that line soon, stay tuned! ;-) The Maybelline lipstick is creamy as well. I love that it's so accessible too!
Both of them are pretty darn amazing, hope this post helps if you've been looking for a dupe. ;-)

Review: Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Ladyflower!

New Urban Decay Formula!

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Ladyflower
I was pretty curious about the NEW Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks so I decided to quench my makeup thirst and pick up the shade Ladyflower! :-) I believe this shade was part of a limited edition kit in mini form so I was super excited to see it again! These sheer revolution lipsticks retail for $22 but I managed to haul this during the V.I.B Sale. They are said to be a glossy, sheer creamy formula. I'm not sure what Urban Decay's definition of sheer is because this one is really pigmented haha but overall I love this formula!
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Ladyflower
The packaging is spectacular! I love the lilac tint it has and as always it feels expensive ;-)
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Ladyflower
The formula is very high shine which is awesome because your lips end up looking so juicy! Its very comfortable on. The pigmentation is great and the lipstick stays put for a good 4 hours. Even though it's glossy it's not a thin, easy-to-transfer formula. It stays on super well!
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Ladyflower
Here is what ladyflower looks like on... isn't it such a pretty pink?! It's a beautiful rosey pink, great for everyday wear! I'm completely in love with this shade, I just think it's perfection!

Bottom line: This lippie was a hit! I love the formula and this color is gorgeous. I'm eyeing a few other colors. If you want color but not something too bold this formula would be great for you. MFR approved! :-)

Reviews: Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced!

Mini Urban Decay Haul!

Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced
Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands when it comes to eyeshadow! You can only imagine my excitement when I saw their eyeshadows at half price during the Ulta 21 days of beauty! I wanted a bunch of them but I'm trying to be good with my hauling and settled for these two! ;-)
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced
Packaging is everything! These are perfect for traveling. Urban Decay sells a pretty spiffy empty palette you can stick these in... if I get more I'll definitely consider that!
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced
Here's a closeup of the colors! I ended up with a bright summery shade and a matte transition shade. I wanted colors that I don't already own in palettes and these ended up being exactly that.
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced
Here are the swatches! These shadows are incredibly smooth! I love the formula, specially Laced because it's such a blendable matte shade which is hard to find nowadays.
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Freelove & Laced

Bottom line: Urban Decay does shadow right and these singles are no exception! For only $9 at the time these were a bargain! Can't wait to add some more to my collection in the future. :-)

Swatches: Urban Decay Ammo Palette!

On Sale!

Urban Decay Ammo Palette
Urban Decay makes some of the best shadows... ever! The formula is pretty much on point and rarely disappoints. For that reason whenever I see a palette of theirs go on sale I purchase it right away because I know I'm gonna love it! :-) Today I'll be sharing swatches of the Urban Decay Ammo Palette which recently went on sale for $16! It was sold out but it keeps coming back in stock on the Sephora site every now and then so make sure to keep your eyes peeled if you're interested.
Urban Decay Ammo Palette
Packaging is really edgy yet simple, love it! It's a really small palette, ideal for traveling. It came with a travel size of the Primer Potion which I forgot to photograph (haha) but overall this is a bargain for the sale price!
Urban Decay Ammo Palette
Here's an overview of the palette. The palette is made up of 10 of Urban Decays bestsellers which is pretty awesome! It's like owning a piece of Urban Decay history! The colors are all so stunning and up to par with my other palettes.
Urban Decay Ammo Palette
Here's a close up! All the shadows are metallic so you would need to include some matte shades from other palettes to make a complete look. The palette also comes with a tiny shadow brush... not the greatest but in a pinch it gets the job done.
Urban Decay Ammo Palette
I love this first row of shades, must me the warmer shadow lover in me haha. They are so pigmented and silky!
Urban Decay Ammo Palette
Here is the bottom row, more cooler colors. I love how unique the shades are, full of cool shifts and duo chromes. These will be great for the spring time!

This palette retails for $34 but most beauty sites like Sephora, Ulta and the Urban Decay website have it for $16 so make sure to take advantage of the great deal! I love all the colors and I'm excited to add this palette to my collection! :-)

Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette!

Throw Back!

Urban Decay Naked Palette
Today I'm taking it way back to the creator of my makeup obsession! haha. The Urban Decay Naked Palette was all the rage when I found the beauty community on YouTube. I didn't purchase it a few years back because it wasn't within my budget but now that the tables have turned and I can afford to treat myself every now and then I decided to go for it! It currently retails for $54 but I ordered it when Sephora sent me a $20 off coupon (gotta take advantage of the discounts!). I owned the Naked 2 Palette first but never used it enough to keep it so I sold it. This one suites me way more and I'm so happy to have this palette in my collection! :-)
Urban Decay Naked Palette
The packaging is really cute, a velvet exterior. I don't find it to be sturdy enough to travel with it though.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
Here's an overview of the palette! There's a total of 12 shades, a mixture of mattes, metallics and shimmers. It's the original neutral palette, leaning more on the warmer side. All the shades are so smooth and buttery, the best quality!
Urban Decay Naked Palette
You can truly get a wide range of looks from this palette, anywhere from natural looks to a smokey eye. The shades are all just so stunning!
Urban Decay Naked Palette
A little added bonus to this palette is the brush it comes with. I find that in a pinch it gets the job done.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
Here are the swatches! The two matte shades are the best transition and crease colors. I think I might run out of those first because I like to use them with other palettes too.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
The metallic shades are so pigmented btw! These shadows last all day over primer without creasing.

Bottom line: I can now see why this palette was the one to obsess over back in the day (and now!). I'm such a sucker for a great neutral palette even though I own way too many haha but somehow I find a difference between them. This one has gorgeous bronze and copper shades which I love to use. I know that Urban Decay has increased the price of this palette throughout the years, kinda sucks for the consumer but I suggest you wait for a 20% sale or gift card to get it because the price is pretty steep. The Coastal Scents Revealed Palette is a great alternative too and much more affordable! But there's nothing like owning an original :-)

Review: Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette!

20 Exclusive Shades!

Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
Oh Urban Decay, why do you have to release such awesome palettes!? I'm a sucker for palettes and this one is a great one. There's a few things I would tweak but overall I really love it... mainly because of the colors. The Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette retails for $60... I know crazy! But if you know me well you would know that I would never pay full price for palette so I got it during the Beauty.com 20% off friends and family sale!
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
The palette is gorgeous as far as the color selection goes! The Vice 2 palette is more on the cooler side which I don't use as often as I do warm colors so this palette was perfect for me! It has some neutral shades but stars are those cranberry shades... love! The fact that the shades are exclusive is amazing, the last thing you want is a bunch of repeats haha. The outside packaging is also pretty cool, very retro looking! Is very compact and has a fancy magnetic closure plus a full size mirror.
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
There's certain palettes that you look at and instantly you feel inspired, this one does that to me! I just want to dip my brush into those metallic shades and create a masterpiece (haha my interpretation of one at least!) Now this palette isn't a compete A+ for one reason: texture. When I compared them to other Urban Decay palettes I own they are very powdery, almost to the point of annoyance. So much powder kicks up as soon as you dip your brush, for a $60 palette it gets irritating! I can slightly look past it because it doesn't affect the color payoff. They go on just as bold and vibrant as the other palettes and blend without effort. Just a pet peeve I guess. Here's the look I came up for my best friend Brittany :-)
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
I used Undone and Downfall to blend and in the crease, Lucky and Last Sin on the lid and Vanity in the outer corner to deepen up the look!
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
BTW, I did want to mention that the palette also comes with duo ended brush in a cute lime green color, the brush is pretty decent, great in a pinch. It also comes with a travel case that can be used to put the palette in or as a makeup bag for all your other products. Now we can get into swatches ;-)
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
*Truth- a pale pink with a matte finish, works great as a brow bone highlight but it's pretty powdery.
*Dragon- a bright metallic green, really unique and pigmented! Great to put on the lower lash line for a pop of color.
*Vanity- a metallic plummy purple, really beautiful! Has some dimension to it which really shows on the eyes.
*Alien- a pink-peach with a golden duo chrome, gorgeous! With a golden base it would look amazing.
*Last Sin- a champagne metallic shade with some shimmer, my go to lid shade!
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
*Undone- a light warm beige matte shade...with bits of shimmer, so not really a matte haha. Still a great blending shade but powdery.
*Freeze- a metallic blue-green with a gold shimmer, reminds me of mermaid! So pretty!
*Lucky- a metallic copper, right up my alley! One of my favorites!
*Alchemy- a pink berry color with a satin finish, great shade to warm up your looks.
*Angel- a metallic silver taupe shade, very powdery so takes a bit to build up.
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
*Downfall- a warm medium matte brown, great crease shade. Pretty powdery but still blends nicely.
*Heroine- a matte navy blue with blue shimmers, stunning color! A drier texture but not troublesome whatsoever.
*Reign- a rich golden brown with a satin finish, lovely over the lid mixed with the next shade!
*Bondage- a metallic purple- burgundy... love it! Another of my favorites, makes the prettiest smokey eye when you blend it up into the crease.
*Defy- a darker cool toned taupe with a matte finish, another unique color but not one I gravitate towards.
Urban Decay Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette
*DTF-warm neutral taupe brown with a matte finish but has some shimmers... not really sure why Urban Decay does that because on the eye the shimmers don't show haha. Great blending shade too.
*Broke Down- a metallic golden olive green, so gorgeous! Looks amazing on the eye, especially on brown eyes! ;-)
*Bobby Dazzle- a metallic white with a white gold sheen, great inner corner highlight!
*Sonic- a metallic orange-red copper, love it! This is the color that drew me into this palette and it didn't disappoint.
*Revolver- a deepen charcoal color with shimmer, great for a smokey look, not one I see myself using too much.

Bottom line: I'm super happy that I was able to get this palette on sale! Even though I've been using it pretty often lately I still feel like $60 is way over priced for the quality. The shadows just make a mess and it annoys me... but it could just be me haha. I really enjoy this one more than the Vice 2 palette, the colors are just stunning! *sigh*... I would highly recommend it if it wasn't so pricey, hopefully another sale comes along so you guys can pick it up! :-)

Here's another look I came up :-)
