Review: Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick in Sinful Cinnamon!

A Bit Of Cinnamon For The Fall!

I have a total of three of the NEW Buxom Big &Sexy Bold Gel Lipsticks, make sure to check out my first impressions on the first two I purchased by clicking here! :-) I loved the formula so much that I decided to get the other color I was eyeing, Sinful Cinnamon. Each lippie is $22 so it's definitely a "treat yo self" type of product haha. The line is divided into Satin and Mattes and they come in the coolest packaging... pure awesomeness!
Sinful Cinnamon is a matte lipstick and the Buxom formula is so comfortable! It's opaque and creamy which is the definition of a good lipstick. But because it's so creamy it's not the most longwearing. I personally don't mind reapplying. If I'm looking for something super long lasting I would wear a liquid lipstick instead. It's a little hard to apply too because the shape of the lipstick is bigger than the norm, it's on the chubby side so precision is hard to achieve. The color is gorgeous nonetheless so all the flaws go out the window haha.

Here's is a swatch, just one swipe across. It's so smooth with great color payoff right off the bat. This color is so pretty too, a great brown-nude shade! At first there's a slight sheen on the lips, more of a satin finish but it ends up looking matte after a while. I don't find it to be drying at all and that's the main selling point for me when it comes to mattes.

Bottom line: I love this color and formula! It's a great everyday shade and Sinful Cinnamon just sounds so appropriate for fall! :-)

New From Buxom!

Buxom is a brand I haven't tried before but after getting these lippies... I need some more Buxom in my life! :-) I won't be reviewing them in this post, expect more of a first impressions. I received them today (Friday) and immediately put them on and had to get some swatches up! Overall they seem to have a promising formula and the packaging is so bad ass! This new lipstick line is split into mattes and satins and they're each $22 at Sephora.

Even the box is so cute! I love when brands add a little something to set them apart from other brands.

I purchased one of each finish and to my surprise the packaging matches the finish (which is so cool!) I was so excited when I saw them, they just look so different!

I wanted to compare them to the Nars Audacious Lipsticks for size reference. They are a great size, a little on the chubby side. The best part?.... MAGNETIC TUBE! Just like the Nars lippies these are magnetic! I wasn't expecting that at all but I love it because it matches the price! ;-)

The size of the lipstick itself is wider than most which makes it a little difficult to achieve a precise application. You need to be extra careful but since the formula feels so good I can overlook that! They smell amazing by the way, like a warm vanilla! Let's get into lip swatches:

*Rebel Rose- this is my favorite of the two because that color is perfection! It's a beautiful rosy pink in the satin finish which doesn't feel like a typical satin. This lipstick is so creamy and leaves your lips looking glossy and juicy! I can't get over how stunning that color is, truly a great everyday shade!

*Vampy Plum- this is a matte deep plum but doesn't really feel like a matte. It feels and looks more like a satin matte because it's so creamy! I love this color but it was a bit difficult to apply evenly because of the creamy consistency. I would rather wear it with a lip liner to make sure it doesn't slip away. This formula is so comfortable though!

I hope these swatches were helpful! I can already tell the "satins" will be my favorites from this line and I can't wait to try some other colors. As soon as I put it on it just felt so good! There's tons of colors to choose which I love. The color payoff is fantastic, full color in one swipe! The packaging is also so cool.... overall I'm loving these so far! :-)

Need it Or Leave it: Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Gloss Collection- Nudes & Brights!

Great Collection Of Colors!

Sephora released this Buxom lip gloss set recently and I knew immediately that I needed it in my life! I tried one Buxom gloss prior to owning this set and fell in love. So what better way to try out a bunch of colors right?! ;-)

This set retails for $32, while one full size Buxom gloss will set you back $19. So money wise it's worth it because you're getting a total of six beautiful shades to try out. I love the combination of nudes and brights! It compliments anyone and everyone! For the days you feel extra special you can wear one of the brights and on the days you just want to be a natural beauty you can wear the nudes. It's an amazing value!

Ugh... I wish the packaging wasn't so prone to fingerprints. It's definitely a pet peeve of mine haha but what can you do?!

On the Sephora site the glosses are described as sheer, shimmering lip colors but I must disagree! These gloss pack a punch, even the nudes. They are really creamy and full of color, exactly what I look for in a gloss! These aren't plumping like the Buxom Lip Creams, so if you're worried about having your lips tingle just know these won't do that. Here's a close up of the colors:

From left to right:

*Yes You- a creamy beige with gold micro shimmer, looks amazing over a nude lipstick like L'Oreal's Fairest Nude!

*Mwah- a mauve-nude with gold micro shimmer

*Dolly- a deeper mauve/pink with gold micro shimmer

*Strut it- a fuchsia pink with silver micro shimmer... super pretty!

*Pucker Up- a violet pink with silver micro shimmer, perfect to go over "radiant orchid" lipsticks so you can be on trend!

*Cha Cha Cha- a bright coral-orange with silver micro shimmer. This one was more sheer than the rest and the shimmers are less visible.

 

Most of these colors are unique to the set and are not sold separately so when you have a chance head over to your Sephora and purchase it! This set is a must have if your a Buxom fan like myself. These glosses aren't sticky and don't have a strong scent. The shades are gorgeous and at the end of the day... you need it! ;-)
