Review: Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige!

NEW Wet n Wild Foundation!

Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige
I was so excited to find this foundation at my local Walgreens because it's only $5.99! The packaging is a really nice glass bottle, definetely feels more expensive than $5.99! There's a total of 20 shades on the Wet n Wild website which is amazing. They claim that this foundation is skin-perfecting and camera-ready with a matte finish. I wore it a few times and here are my thoughts!

I purchased the shade Golden Beige which was a perfect match. I used a beauty blender for application which gave me medium coverage. I love the spatula the foundation comes with! It makes application very easy. Now, here's my first con: this foundation has a strong paint like scent. It doesn't linger but it's noticeable when you're applying it.

I really like how this foundation looks for the first 3-4 hours. It looks amazing for that period of time (matte, skin like and super smooth) but after the 4 hour mark it starts to break down on me. During the Winter time my skin is pretty normal but this foundation made me get SO oily! At the end of the day, even after touching up, my face looked greasy.
Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige
I did wear a pore minimizing primer underneath, maybe I should try a mattifying one instead. I really wanted this to work because it looks really good at first. Wet n Wild claims that it looks great under different lighting... not too important to me but I will say it looks awesome on camera.

Bottom line: I would stay away if you have oily skin. My skin is pretty normal right now and it still made me oily. It wasn't longwearing which is a bummer. I will continue to wear it on days that I don't need it to last long. I do like the color selection and the price is budget friendly. It's up in the air for me but for $5.99 it may be worth a try for you! :-)

Review: L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation & Blend Artist Foundation Blender!

NEW From L'Oreal!

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation
My favorite time of year is here!! New makeup is starting to appear at the drugstores and I couldn't be more excited! It's always fun to try something new and today I have two mini reviews to share with you.

The L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation instantly intrigued me when I saw it at Walmart. It was about $10-$12 which is pricey for the drugstore but the claims made me bite the bullet. It claims to provide full coverage with a lightweight formula and natural finish. I've worn it a few times now and can completely agree with it being full coverage and lightweight! It covers everything yet it feels like nothing on the skin which is amazing! It dries beautifully and I didn't have to set it with powder which is a first for me. My main con is the packaging... it's so hard to pick your shade! The color 303 Nude Beige ended up being too neutral for me, just made me look lifeless.

L'Oreal Blend Artist Foundation Blender

Now, the L'Oreal Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender is something you need! I wasn't expecting much from the sponge but I was so blown away! The shape is awesome, I love the pointy end for concealer and the rounded bottom for foundation. The dent in the center helps with gripping it which is pretty cool. It gets pretty large when damp and I love that because it covers more surface. I've used it with multiple foundations and haven't been disappointed. For $7.99 it's the best at the drugstore in my opinion! (Sorry Real Techniques!)

Bottom line: If you can find a color match I would recommend the foundation because it looks really nice on the skin. The fact that you don't have to set it with powder is a plus and it feels really lightweight. The foundation blender sponge is hands down a must have. I really enjoy using it and how well it blends my makeup! It's affordable and the design is super convenient... you need it! :-)

Review: L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation!

Cool & Convenient!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
I've been gone for so long but today I'm back with full force! :-) I've been dying to tell you guys about the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation! I've been trying it out for about a month now and I'm in love! It's pretty pricey though... about $15 depending on where you get it. But I've already repurchased it so it's safe to say it's an awesome product! :-) Let's get into details!
L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
The packaging is so pretty! It has rose gold, it's compact and lightweight. I purchased the shade W3 which is Nude Beige and it's a great match for me now before I start getting some color. There's 12 shades available on the Ulta website ranging from light to dark which is awesome.
There's only 0.51 oz of product which is one of my cons because I ran out of it super quick and it's not the cheapest thing in the world to replace.
L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
My other con is the applicator. I appreciate the plastic cover that separates the products itself from the applicator but I just don't know how I feel about reusing this sponge and storing it... but that's a personal thing. I actually love the finish I get with the applicator! I provides great coverage ( a good medium) and it applies it evenly. I tried using a brush but it looked streaky and the beauty blender just blended it away. So the applicator is great I just wished replacements were sold separately.

Here's a look using this foundation. I do set it with a loose powder so it doesn't move. The finish is so skin like and natural which I love! I'd say it last about 4-5 hours looking great.
L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
Bottom line: I really enjoy this foundation! I find it perfect for everyday use and it's so quick to use. I tend to reach for it on days that I just need to be out the door for work...so lets just say it's saved my butt a few times! haha. I love how natural it looks. I just which it was a little more budget friendly. That's OK though, that's what coupons and sales are for! :-)

Must Haves: Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer!

New Favorite Foundation!

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer
Milani blew me away with their new foundation! The Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer (Wooo, what a name! haha) is pretty much amazing! It retails for $9.99 which isn't bad for a foundation that comes with a pump. There's 14 shades on the Milani website and I ended up with 03 Light Beige. I've been wearing and testing it out for about 2 weeks now and here are my thoughts! :-)
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer
The pump is a huge plus in my book! The consistency is on the thicker side in my opinion which concerned me at first because I thought it would be difficult to blend. But guys... it blends so effortlessly! I love to use my beauty blender with this foundation because it blends it into my skin so well. It's a beautiful satin-matte finish with amazing coverage. Just like the bottle states it's a medium to full coverage, definetely buildable. Milani also claims that the foundation is sweat-proof and water-resistant which I totally agree with! I was so impressed with the longevity and even more when I noticed I didn't get oily in my T-Zone which always happens!

As far as using it as a concealer I prefer not to. I like a lighter concealer compared to my foundation which is why it didn't work for me. But as a foundation it's hands down one of the best! Here's what the foundation looks like on:
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer

Bottom line: I am so obsessed with this foundation! It's kinda like all the things I love about other foundations in one! I love how long it lasts and the coverage is outstanding without looking cakey. It's an oil free formula which is great because it doesn't feel heavy. If you spot it at your local drugstore I'd say go for it! Best $10 I've spent! :-)

Review: E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum!

Lightweight & Natural!

E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum
Once in a while I like to stop by the "What's New" section on the E.L.F website and to my surprise this foundation was there waiting for me to order it haha ;-) The E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum retails for $8 and there's only 3 available shades at the moment. The site states that it's limited so if you like what you read make sure to place your order asap.
Off the bat I loved the fact that water was one of the top ingredients! It keeps the consistency lightweight which is exactly what I want for the summer time. It also has Dimethicone which gives it that "serum" like feel and allows the foundation to go on smoothly.
E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum
The foundation is pretty liquidy so I used the E.L.F Studio Powder Brush to apply it and it was perfect! One layer evened out my skintone but didn't cover much. I had to apply a second layer to get it to my liking but my freckles and dark spots were still noticeable.
E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum
I chose the color light/medium which was a little too light for me. It seemed more of a light and the following color seemed too dark so I hope they release more colors in the future.
E.L.F Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum
I used primer, powder and a setting spray like I do with all my foundations and it held up super well! The finish is very beautiful, not matte but not super luminous... right in between which made my skin look so youthful. It actually didn't feel like I had anything on which is awesome!

Bottom line:  I really enjoyed this foundation! If you have imperfections that you want covered this is not the foundation for you. It's very light and not buildable. It feels amazing on and wears well. For days that I just need to even out my skintone and head out the door this would be perfect. It's beautiful, natural and comfortable. :-)

Review: Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation!

It's Time To Shine... Literally!

Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation
I haven't been so torn about a makeup product... ever! haha. I've been testing out this NEW Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation for a few weeks now and here's the deal: I love it but then I find it so odd! There's specks of glitter throughout the foundation you guys... glitter which is so weird to me! The price is pretty steep too, about $15 at the drugstore. Revlon claims that the formula has a light-filtering technology that delivers a poreless, airbrushed look. It's meant to give you a soft focus effect, leaving your face looking luminous and flawless. I must agree with the claims!

Let's start off with the pros :-) The color match is spot on, the best match in a foundation for me thus far! The consistency is not liquidy nor thick, a nice in between which helps provide a solid medium coverage. From far away it looks stunning! My pores aren't as visible, my skin looks natural but everything that needs to be covered is covered! But then you take a closer look and all you see is glitter...everywhere! I pretty much looked like an extra from Twilight honestly. I screamed when I saw all the glitter haha. I had to go to work and I was so terrified that someone would see my sparkling face and ask me what went wrong. But surprisingly I got the sweetest compliments on my makeup that day!
Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation
Here's what the foundation looks like on, it's amazing what those glitters do because this foundation photographs flawlessly! The soft focus claim is definetely true, great foundation if you're in front of the camera a lot! But... for an ordinary gal like myself with an office job it's a bit out there haha.
Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation
I wanted to include a close up so you can see the glitters, mainly on my forehead. It's super noticeable up close.

Bottom line: I think this foundation is perfect for special occasions. If you have a wedding coming up or any event where you'll be photographed nonstop this would be your best friend! It looks amazing in pictures. But a sparkling face on the everyday basis is too much. Imagine wearing this foundation under the sun.. eeek! During this time of year for you drier skin girls it may work because it adds a luminous aspect to the skin but I just can't get past the glitter. Have you tried it? What are your thoughts? Leave me a comment down below! :-)

Review: L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation & Concealer!

New From L'Oreal!

So let me start off by saying that recently I looked in the mirror and noticed a gray hair...I freaked out! haha. My whole mentality has changed ( just a bit) and I've been looking for makeup with some anti-aging qualities. It's never too early to take preventive measures and that gray hair was a wake up call, haha. I purchased the L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation about a month back, close to the time I purchased the new Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation (which is amazing btw!). I then purchased the concealer about 2 weeks ago and here are my thoughts!
The packaging for both the foundation and concealer is the same squeeze tube style. The foundation comes in many different colors which is awesome! But, there wasn't any testers so picked the one that seemed to match, 206 Natural Beige, but it turned out to be a tad too dark. I made it work with a lighter powder ;-) L'Oreal claims that the foundation instantly blurs lines and uneven texture for younger looking skin in seconds, which is pretty accurate! It goes on so smooth and has a medium yet natural coverage so you don't get the "cakey" look. My skin looked silky smooth and felt smooth too! It has kinda like a silicone feeling to it but isn't slippery on the skin like other foundations. I do recommend to set it with powder for longer lasting power.
The formula is great! Now the price tag is a bit scary, $14.99... good thing I had a coupon at the time haha. It has a SPF of 18 which is a plus. I noticed the foundation continued to look amazing for about 4-5 hours. Even in the hot weather it held up pretty well but I do have to say it wasn't the best at oil control. I had to touch up my t-zone many times throughout the day which was a bummer. The rest of my face looked great but my t-zone was a big problem area, maybe a better primer can fix it.
Now onto the concealer! This retails for $12.99... again pretty pricey for a drugstore product. It comes in three shades, I purchased 302 Light. One of my favorite concealers is the Mac Pro Longwear but I tend to push it aside because you have no control over how much you pump out. I thought this concealer would be the perfect solution because of the squeeze tube but boy was I wrong! No matter how lightly you squeeze the product just gushes out. The concealer itself is OK, not the best coverage and I think its due to its consistency. It's so creamy that it creases like crazy, so you definitely need to set it with powder.
This is what the squeeze tubes look like.

Bottom line: I feel like both the products are way too pricey! I don't recommend the foundation for oily skin girls, other than that its a great foundation! So if you're willing to pay the price I would recommend it, but I really believe the Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation is a better formula if you're looking for a flawless finish but also something that keeps you matte throughout the day. Plus, it's under $10! As far as the concealer, I wasn't a fan because it easily creased. I was hoping to really love both of these products but it just didn't work out. Have you given either the foundation or concealer a try? If you have leave your thoughts down below! :-)

Review: Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation!

New From Maybelline!

Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation
With a drugstore foundation like this one there's no need to even glance at the higher end ones! :-) I guess you can tell I'm a bit obsessed huh? haha. Maybelline recently launched this new foundation called the Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation and it's amazing! It retails for about $10 at your local drugstores and Ulta. It's said to leave a flawless yet natural finish that fuses with your skin so it's undetectable... and I must agree! I wasn't expecting to like it at first but his foundation is one I highly recommend!
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation
The packaging is a glass bottle in a unique design! The applicator is very different to say the least. It looks like a dropper at first but it's actually a plastic applicator meant to place the product on your fingers and then on your face. It's not the most sanitary... which is my only con.
Now the product itself is a liquid consistency, super runny! Once on your skin it blends so seamlessly and evenly with barely any effort! With just one layer you get more of a medium coverage with a semi-matte but not flat finish. It looks super natural and the best part is you don't need to set it with powder! The consistency is very unique, once on it melts into the skin and sets to a powder finish. Even though the bottle says to use your fingers I use a flat top kabuki brush (the $3 Powder Brush from ELF works perfectly!) and application was so easy and fast!

Bottom line: I'm loving this foundation! Even in this hot weather it held up pretty well! I wore it to work and at the end of my 8 hour shift it still looked amazing. I did notice the slightest bit of shine in my T-Zone (mainly my nose area) but not much compared to other foundations. I love how this feels on the skin, almost like you're not wearing anything. When it claims to be undetectable its very true. If you're looking for a comfortable and natural foundation this is the one for you! Its a must have, even for you oily skin gals! :-)

*Ever since I purchased this foundation I've been using it everyday! I love it!

Review: Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Spotless Foundation SPF 15!

New From Physicians Formula!

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Spotless Foundation SPF 15
Let's start off by acknowledging how long of a name this product has! haha. OK, lets continue. This is my first time trying out a foundation by Physicians Formula. I was pretty excited about this one since its fairly new and different from others that are out in the market. The packaging is also what caught my attention... look how cute it is! This foundation claims to be a weightless foundation serum that would instantly make you look 10 years younger. It's also has a spot correction formulation that helps reduce the appearance of spots. The claims make me think that it's meant for mature skin but I wanted to try it anyways because of the serum aspect. It retails anywhere between $12-$15 at your local drugstore. Here are my thoughts!
Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Spotless Foundation SPF 15
Packaging gets an A+ from me! I love how it has a dropper that allows application to be super easy! It's convenient since it's a serum consistency it prevents a mess from happening.
Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Spotless Foundation SPF 15
The formula is really runny which I'm not use to, but once on the skin it feels (and looks) amazing! It has a noticeable scent at first but it doesn't linger. It comes with a small synthetic brush that actually isn't bad!
Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Spotless Foundation SPF 15
It's not the softest brush in the world but I do feel like it works better that way. It does a great job at blending. I just place a few drops on the bush and blend away! Now, my only con about this product is that it only comes in 3 colors! There's light, medium and medium-beige... not even a deep shade. I purchased mine in medium but it ended up being a hair too dark and slightly orange. I managed to make it work but I really hope they work on their color selection. It covered my sun spots and discoloration around my cheeks so I really enjoyed this foundation!

Bottom line: I really like this foundation! I wont say its the most longwearing but it will look amazing for a good 5 hours. Being a serum formula I thought my skin would end up feeling really oily but I was pleasantly surprised! My skin was moisturized throughout the day without getting more oily than usual. It was breathable and still looked natural while providing the coverage I wanted. The price is a bit high but I'm happy that it comes with a brush that works. Give this a try! :-)

Review: CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & Powder!

Best Drugstore Combo!

CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & Powder
On my recent trip to Walgreens I noticed a new display with Katy Perry and was super excited! I love Katy Perry and she's undeniably gorgeous! The display was full of new products from nail polishes to lip glosses but I wanted to try the foundation first. I had such great results with the CoverGirl Stay Fabulous  3-in-1 Foundation so I had high hopes for this one... and I wasn't disappointed!
Claims:
The packaging claims to leave a flawless, natural look that lasts all day. It also mentions that the formula blends easily to even the skin tone and reduces shine all day. It's an oil-free formula that doesn't clog pores that is also suitable for sensitive skin. The powder also has just about the same claims, emphasis on it being oil absorbing providing shine control.
I do agree with the claims, this foundation is amazing! It's a thinner consistency than the Stay Fabulous but still provides enough coverage without looking cakey. It's definitely a natural looking foundation which is awesome for these hot days. I use it with my Beauty Blender and the finish is beautiful! It dries to a satin finish. The powder is actually a powder foundation so it can be used alone or as a setting powder for extra coverage. I haven't tried it alone but over the foundation it works really well! It comes with a sponge that is washable and I use it to set my under eye concealer. I then use a powder brush to set the rest of my face. I love how they pair together! Normally within 3 hours or so I would have touch up with other foundations but with this combo I don't see the oils appear until 6-7 hours into the day. Here's a picture of what the foundation and powder look like before applying anything else:
CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & Powder
This was taken with my iPhone so excuse the quality haha. But you can see that my skin looks even and youthful!
I haven't found a con with these products! They work well and the packaging is super pretty. I love the splash of pink and white. I don't mind the squeeze tube packaging for the foundation, its easier for me to get the right of amount of product out. My favorite part about this line is the number coding they have. The foundation, powder and also concealer (that I passed on) have number coding to make it easier to match the products to your correct shade. I think that's really smart and makes our lives simpler. Here's my finished face:
CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & Powder
Bottom line: I'm loving this combo and recommend you give it a try! The color selection is wide and choosing your color is also simple. At Walgreens they each retail for $8.99 but at the time they were having a sale so it was a bargain. This will be my go to foundation for the spring and summer because of the oil control qualities. Now... stop what your doing and go get this! :-)

Must Haves: Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation + Rimmel Stay Matte Powder!

Best Combo For A Flawless Face!Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

It took a lot of testing but I finally found the best combo for a flawless face! The best part is that both products are under $10!

Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation- This foundation is amazing! It's really light weight and looks natural while still providing coverage. It's a buildable foundation; medium to full coverage if you need it to be. The Covergirl site claims that the formula fuses a primer, concealer and foundation in one. Personally, I still use a primer and concealer but you can definitely get away with just using the foundation if needed to! My shade is in 832 Nude Beige and its a perfect match. They have a nice range of colors plus there's the Queen Collection for deeper skin tones. I use the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to apply the foundation; the sponge is also a favorite! ;-) This foundation lasts all day and leaves a demi-matte finish on the skin. Some matte foundations leave you looking flat or zombie like but this one leaves your skin looking beautiful and smooth! Another pro is that it has a pump; makes everything so much easier. This foundation is about $10 at your local Walmart!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- Every good foundation needs a great powder. The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is definitely a drugstore gem! This powder is available in 7 shades and is about $4-$6 at your local drugstore. I purchased mine at Rite Aid. The Rimmel site claims that it provides up to 5 hours of shine control while also minimizing your pores. I must agree, this powder does a great job at controlling shine! It's a really smooth powder that doesn't need touch ups. It continues to control shine throughout the day without a problem. It doesn't move or cake up the foundation which is also a plus! I've repurchased it multiple times and even though I've tried other good powders nothing compares to this one. I have the shade Sand and it pairs perfectly with the foundation! :-)

Review: ELF Studio HD Mattifying Cream Foundation!

Say Bye To The Shine!

ELF Studio HD Mattifying Cream Foundation

Eyes Lips Face recently came out with a new mattifying foundation and I had to get my hands on it! I have combination skin so I have some dry patches and I typically get oily around my T zone ( forehead, nose and chin). I needed something to put a stop to the oils and this did the trick! This retails for only $6 ( $3 when there's a sale) which is a great price. The site claims that its oil free so it won't clog your pores and seems to work great for all skin types. It's a cream to powder formula so it doesn't leave a tacky feeling on your face. I still tend to set my foundation with powder lightly. The color I chose is called Sand, it's the second to lightest shade. The picture is a bit watched out so definitely check out the six colors they offer on Eyeslipsface.com. The foundation offers a few things that I love! It has great coverage, I'd say medium coverage but it can be buildable for people who have problem skin. It's super smooth and blends like a dream which also means that it doesn't settle into fine lines. It has great lasting power, about 4-6 hours which is normally what I need on a daily basis. Plus it didn't oxidize. The compact includes a sponge which I think its perfect for application. I personally wouldn't dip a brush into it because it wont grab too much product but I after applying it with the sponge I tend to use the brush to make sure its evenly distributed on my face. The compact is a great size and it has a large mirror.

Bottom line:  Overall I love this foundation. Before this I used powder foundations since all I have to cover are red spots. After trying this I was impressed. My fear was that it would leave a cakey look to my face but that was not the case. It looked really natural and kept me matte for a while. To help with the application I applied the ELF Studio Poreless Face Primer under my makeup. I think it actually helped a lot but that will be whole different review (stay tuned!) As far as the foundation, it lives up to its claims so make sure to try it out if you've been in the market for something like it! :-)
