Review: NYX Perfect Filter Palette in Rustic Antique! (Swatches + Looks!)

New Fall Favorite?

NYX Perfect Filter Palette in Rustic Antique
Hey everyone! Today I'm reviewing the NYX Perfect Filter Palette in Rustic Antique. I know what you're thinking... "another warm toned palette?" I just can't stay away from those oranges and  cranberries, haha.
I wanted to see what the drugstore has to offer when it comes to warm tone palettes. The ones that I own are pricier than this one so I wanted to find something:  A. budget friendly and B. great formulation. I've played with it for a bit so let's get into my thoughts.

This palette is priced at $20. Kinda pricey for the drugstore but if you break it down it ends up being $2 per shadow which isn't bad at all! Plus NYX is a brand that runs a lot of sales (on their site and at Ulta) so you're more than likely to find it for cheaper.

This palette has all the basics when it comes to shadows: great transition and blending shades, one you can use to deepen your look and a nice selection of lid shades. I wish it had a deeper matte brown or matte black to take it to the next level when it comes to smokey looks. Aside from that I really enjoy this palette!
NYX Perfect Filter Palette in Rustic Antique
The colors are beautiful! I'm really impressed by the mattes because they blend so well! The two metallics on the top right are amazing too! ( intense pigmentation!)
Here are some looks I came up with using the palette:

Bottom line: This palette meets the criteria of being budget friendly and having a great formula! If you've been looking for a palette with warm tones that won't break the piggy bank this is a great option. Definetely look out for this one and keep your eyes peeled for a sale or coupon too! :-)

One Brand Look: NYX Cosmetics!

Summer Look Using NYX!

One Brand Look: NYX Cosmetics

Today I'm sharing a look I created using all NYX products when it comes to my eyes, lips and cheeks! I'm sticking with my warm colored roots and wanted to share with you what I used because 1. NYX is so affordable! and 2. It's super accessible and who doesn't like that combo? ;-)

Starting with eyes:
I used the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals which is such a good palette! It retails for $18 and like me you can purchase it at Ulta or Ulta.com. The color selection is me in a palette and on days that I don't know what to do I pull this out and it never fails! I have a full review with swatches already on my blog, click here to check it out.

Now on to cheeks:
I used the NYX Ombre Blush in Strictly Chic ever so slightly. It's beautiful! It starts off as a light peach and ombres into a warm peachy shade. I went light handed, trying no to overpower the eyes. This blush is $10 which is great because of how versatile the product is.

Lastly on my lips:
If you haven't noticed I'm absolutely obsessed with the NYX Butter Lipsticks! They are such a good, comfortable formula with awesome color payoff and only $6 my friend! I wore the shade Snack Shack which is brown mauve shade, perfect for everyday wear. It complimented my eyes so well!

I'm gathering some more products for another One Brand Look so stay tuned for that! :-)

Swatches: NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipsticks! (New Shades!)

Swatch Fest!

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipsticks
Today I'll be sharing swatches of some of the new NYX Butter Lipsticks shades! This lippie formula is one of my favorites and I appreciate the variety in color NYX offers! If you haven't tried this line you are missing out. It's such a creamy formula with awesome pigmentation. If you're over the liquid lipstick trend definetely give these a try because they are so comfortable! They retail for $6 at Ulta which is such a great price.
NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipsticks
Something to note about the formula is that since they are so creamy they tend to feather out your lip lines. Just make sure to line your lips beforehand to prevent that. I've seen brands come out with universal lip liners which is so convenient when you have some out of the ordinary lipstick colors haha. Let's get into the swatches!
NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipsticks
If I had to pick some stand out colors I would pick Vacation Spot, Ripe Berry & Heat Wave (which would be gorgeous for summer!).

Have you tried any of the new shades? Which are your favorite? Leave me a comment down below! :-)

Review: NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals! (Swatches + Look!)

NEW From NYX!

NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals
I always preferred NYX Cosmetics single shadows over the palettes they offered before. But this NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals has converted me! haha. This palette retails for $18 which is pretty high in the drugstore world but I managed to snatch it up during a sale so it wasn't too bad for my pocket. There's 16 shadows in the palette in all the essential finishes and they are very well formulated!
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals
The shadows live in a very compact palette which is a plus for me when I store it. The packaging is pretty sturdy, no complaints there.
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals
There's four palettes to choose from but I'm a warm lover so I had to stick with what makes my heart happy! ;-) The colors are gorgeous and the range is nice! There's a nice mix of light and dark and everything in between. They are so rich in pigment and blending them was very easy. Let's get into swatches:
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals
The darker shades are my faves! I love the redder browns in this palette. Even though it's a warmer palette it still stands out from my other ones because of those red-orange tones. Of course I love the golds and coppers but that's a given! Here's a look I created. I appreciate that the colors don't blend away, you still see the gradient of colors. They last amazingly over primer....overall I love them!
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals

Bottom line: I do think it's a little pricey for drugstore but I know there's ways to get that price down. I would recommend to wait for sale (40% NYX at Ulta happens once in a while) or use the $3.50 off of $10 coupon. The shadows are great quality but for some reason my mind is trained to not pay full price for it haha. I really like it and would definetely recommend to check out this one and the other three if you're into those shades! :-)

Review: NYX First Base Primer Spray!

Does It Really Work?

NYX First Base Primer Spray
I've never been so curious about a product as I was with the NYX First Base Primer Spray! I've been hearing so many great things about a more higher end primer spray but I just couldn't help to think it's just gimmicky! haha. Luckily, NYX released their on version of it for only $8 so I took the plunge and tested it out.
The NYX site claims that it's a new skin smoothing primer spray that keeps your skin feeling soft and refreshed while locking in your makeup. Call me crazy... but this works! :-D
NYX First Base Primer Spray
For $8 you get 2.02 fl. oz which is a pretty great value. I love to spray it on before wearing my actual primer, like the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Smoothing Primer, and I've noticed a huge difference! First off, if I have any moisture on my face this primer spray actually soaks it up leaving a really smooth, dry but not dry feeling canvas which helps tremendously when I apply my primer and foundation. Everything goes on smoother and looks so flawless! I didn't notice my makeup lasting longer so I don't think it extends the wear of my makeup but it does make it look a lot better!
I noticed a difference when I didn't use it so let's just say I'm hooked! ;-)

Bottom line: I really like this primer spray! I find that it truly works and would highly recommend to try it out. I don't recommend to use it alone since it wont fill in your pores or fine lines (which I need that) but it doesn't claim to either. I use it before my primer and it makes everything look and go on so much better! It's a great price and such a cool product...pick it up! ;-)

Dupe Alert: Drugstore Alternative To Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark!

Similar For Less!

Drugstore Alternative To Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark
It's time for another dupe! :-) I've been loving sharing these posts with you and who doesn't love a more affordable option for a higher end product?  Recently I found an alternative to the beloved After Dark lipstick from the Urban Decay Matte Revolution line and it's only $6! Now this dupe may not be the exact color but it's definetely really close. Let's get into details shall we!
Drugstore Alternative To Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark
The After Dark lippie retails for $22 which is ex-pen-sive. I won't lie though, the formula is amazing, my favorite matte lipstick formula right now actually! It's super pigmented and comfortable, not at all drying. I love how it has a slight purple-blue shift which makes it so different than the other 100 berry lippies in the market! That's what I was focusing on when searching for a dupe and then I remembered that I had the NYX Matte lipstick in Aria which also has the same shift.
Drugstore Alternative To Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark
NYX Aria has more purple tones compared to After Dark but it's also a great matte formula and very similar on the lips. They are both pretty long wearing and the color is so perfect for fall! :-)

If you found this dupe helpful leave me a comment down below! If you have a dupe to share with me let me know too, I'm always up for a bargain! :-)

Best Drugstore Blushes! - Fall Edition!

My Favorite Blushes For Fall!

Best Drugstore Blushes
Who's excited for fall?! This is my favorite time of year... pumpkin spice everything, haunted houses, cooler nights....love it all! :-) What I also adore about fall is the makeup. I'm a fan of being daring during these months. Today I have three of my favorite fall blushes to share with you that will definitely complete your smokey eye or vampy lip! Let's get into it! :-)
Best Drugstore Blushes
All the blushes in this post are at a drugstore price, $5 of less! They are amazing colors and each blush line is also outstanding so I'd recommend to venture out and find some other colors too.
Best Drugstore Blushes
The first blush is from City Color Cosmetics. It's part of their Be Matte Blush line which are a great formula! The color is called Sunset Safari which is a gorgeous warm terracotta shade... obsessed! I've been using this non stop because it looks so good with my brown lipsticks. It lasts very well and blends into the skin without trouble. I actually used it in the crease recently, here's what it looked like (love a multipurpose product!):
Fall Makeup

Next up is the NYX Powder Blush in Bordeaux! This is a returning favorite and it looks so good with a vampy lip. It gives you that "blushing" look without having to stand outside in the cold haha. I prefer this blush line over the new HD line because the HD ones are super powdery and I don't find them to wear well. Just a heads up! :-)

Lastly I have a very accessible blush which I actually purchased at Walmart! It's from the Covergirl Cheekers line and it's called Rock N Rose. It's a pretty neutral rose blush that honestly completes any look! This line has tons of colors and they are worth it! I have a few...  and some are dupes for high-end blushes (Wohoo!)

There you have it, three budget friendly blushes for the fall! I hope you found this post helpful. If you have any must have drugstore blushes to share leave me a comment down below! :-)

Review: NYX Intense Butter Glosses! (Napoleon, Funnel Delight, Spice Cake & Toasted Marshmallow!

Talk About Intense!

NYX Intense Butter Glosses
Let me start off by saying the name is so fitting! haha. When NYX said intense they weren't kidding! I'm obsessed with the original butter glosses so I was very intrigued by these when they initially released. They retail for $6 which is a great price! There's many colors to choose from so if you like bold, opaque colors these may be for you!
NYX Intense Butter Glosses
The applicator is key with this lippie. It's flat on both side to make it easy to apply your gloss evenly. Just close your lips over it and swipe and wahlaaa! I'm a fan because it's functional.
NYX Intense Butter Glosses
Here are the colors, just one swipe across! I love a bold lip but the formula has to be done right. In this case I think it missed the mark. Even though the color payoff is out of this world, it's so intense that any mistake is magnified to the extreme. You will need a lip liner to make sure it looks put together, otherwise it will end up looking like a hot mess. Since it's a gloss it transfers and doesn't last all day. It's comfortable on the lips, just a tad on the thicker side for my liking. Let's get into swatches:
NYX Intense Butter Glosses
*Napoleon: a bright warm pink, great shade! It's a lovely shade of pink that would be great for this time of year.
*Funnel Delight: a super bright hot pink... love the color! It makes your lips look very plump which is always a plus in my book ;-)
NYX Intense Butter Glosses
*Spice Cake: a deep plum which is one of my faves! This shade is perfection for fall! I've worn this one the most.
*Toasted Marshmallow: a gorgeous deep mauve-purple. Another great shade because it's pretty unique!

Bottom line: I would've loved the glosses if they were slightly tweaked. I think these colors would've been better off being a stain because as a gloss it requires a lot of maintenance. I love the shades and how juicy they make your lips look but I want something to last and these are not long wearing. Again, this is just my personal taste. If you're in the market for a super duper pigmented gloss these are a great choice and the price is unbeatable! :-)

Review: NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Stone & Free Spirit!

Great Formula!

NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Stone & Free Spirit
The NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Stone has been a hot item ever since it released. It was out of stock for the longest but I manged to get it and because I love things in pairs I also ordered the shade Free Spirit! ;-) These lippies retail for $6 each and I would recommend to purchase them at Ulta so you can take advantage of their coupons!
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Stone & Free Spirit

I wasn't thrilled about the packaging because it does feel cheaper than their other lipsticks. But... the formula is so spot on that I can overlook that! These are so smooth, opaque and very moisturizing! I really appreciate the thinner lipstick because application is a lot easier.
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Stone & Free Spirit
This is just one swipe of the lippies so you can see how pigmented they are!
NYX High Voltage Lipsticks in Stone & Free Spirit
Here are the swatches :-) I'm truly impressed with the color payoff of these lipsticks! My lips are pretty pigmented so I thought Stone would go on patchy but I was wrong. It went on evenly and lasted a good 4 hours before I needed to reapply. Free Spirit is a pretty bold color, I love it! Since these are pretty creamy I would recommend to line your lips to help with the wear time.

Bottom line: These are great! The color selection is so extensive so if these are not what you tend to wear definetely checkout the other colors. If you have dry lips these will be your best friend because your lips feel amazing during and after wearing them. Even when I don't need to reapply I still do because it feels so good haha. :-)

Review: NYX Matte Lipsticks!

Most Long-wearing!

NYX Matte Lipsticks
A few months back when I was in my "bridezilla" stage I went on a mission to find the perfect lipstick shade for my Wedding Day. So... somehow I ended up with six of the NYX Matte Lipsticks in my possession haha. I wanted a pretty neutral pink shade for my big day and NYX had such a great shade range, plus they were only $6 each! (plus an additional % off!) Granted, I didn't end up wearing any of these that day but these turned into one of my favorite matte lipstick formula for days that I want something to stay put.
NYX Matte Lipsticks
The color payoff of these lipsticks is insane! Just one swipe and you get amazing pigmentation. What I love about the formula is that it goes on smooth but it's on the drier side (in a good way!) which makes them stay on forever! It doesn't dry out your lips at all. I wore one of the colors on my birthday and after eating, drinking, laughing etc it was still there! It didn't seem to breakdown easily like other matte lipsticks I own.
NYX Matte Lipsticks
Here are the colors I chose! If you compare these to other lipsticks in the market these a truer matte finish. Any sheen in the lip swatches is most likely the lip balm I wore because lip swatches are hell for your lips haha.
NYX Matte Lipsticks
*Alabama- a brick red, really beautiful on! It makes your teeth look ultra white because it's blue toned. I also go it because Judy from It'sJudyTime wears it a lot on her vlogs haha.
*Natural- a mauve pink, great every day shade.
*Perfect Red- a brighter red shade, great one for the Holidays and special occasions. Really love this one!
NYX Matte Lipsticks
*Tea Rose- a brighter mauve pink, super pretty! Perfect shade for the days that you have a deeper eye look.
*Whipped Caviar- a muted neutral pink. I thought I was going to wear this one on my Wedding Day for sure but found another one I loved more. Pretty shade nontheless haha.
*Aria- a bright violet shade... my favorite! In certain lights it looks slightly blue which I think is so unique! This is the shade I wore on my birthday and it lasted all day. Show stopper :-)

Bottom line- The formula is amazing! You can find these at Ulta on sale more often than not which is great for my bargain shoppers. The range of colors is very extensive so you'll definitely find a color you'll love. These aren't the creamiest matte lipsticks if compared to the Maybelline Creamy Mattes but that's OK. Unlike those, these don't budge nor transfer so its a lipstick that you can put on and not worry about for the rest of your day! :-)

Must Haves: NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette!

Great For Beginners & Experts!

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
There's been lots of buzz about this NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette, good and bad! I'm someone that prefers to try something so I can form my own opinion and I'm I happy I did! I've had this palette for a few weeks now and I'm truly impressed with it! I'll be honest though, I was a little bitter after I got it because when I ordered it the price was $30 and now NYX lowered it to $25. Granted, I got a great discount by using a coupon code ("never pay full price" is my motto haha) but that's still money I could have saved. With that being said, after using it I completely forgot about the $5 and fell in love.
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
There's a total of eight shades in this palette, the top row are for highlighting and the bottom row for your contour. I'm very happy with the color selection! I'm no expert in the highlight and contouring field but this palette made everything so simple! I haven't tried any of the other contour palettes in the market because they are a bit pricey. This is a great starting point for someone like myself who wants to learn and test the waters haha ;-) The packaging is a sturdy plastic, nothing fancy but for the price it's nice.
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
Here's a closeup of all the shades. The powders are so smooth and silky! The pigmentation is crazy on these so make sure to use a lighter hand. They blend easily too so you don't have to worry about your contour looking muddy at all. The colors seem suitable or light to medium and olive skintones. But, what's great is that the palette is customizable! Refill pans will be sold later on so you can make your own perfect palette.
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
It's really simple to pop the pans out of the palette, love the idea!
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
Here are the swatches! This is the first row, the highlighting shades. I wish the shades had names but it's OK. The first shade to the left is a beautiful highlight shade! I was so scared to use it at first since it's a pearly white but it looks amazing on.The third shade is a yellow toned powder which I've been using to set my concealer and it's awesome! It makes my under eye are look so bright, I'm a fan! The last shade is a peachier highlight, gorgeous! Can't wait to use it more during the summer.
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
Here are the contour shades! I've only used the first and third shade in this row. I originally thought the third shade was best for contouring because of the taupe tones but it didn't show up too much. The first shade was perfect for me.
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

Bottom line: This palette is a great value! I know there's other well known palettes competing with this one but this is worth a try. The range of colors in this palette is amazing and I've been enjoying the trial and error process of figuring out my ideal highlight and contour combos. NYX did a great job and I recommend it for sure! :-)

Review: NYX Simply Vamp Lip Creams!

Vampires Beware!

NYX Simply Vamp Lip Creams
It seems like I just can't get enough of the jumbo lip pencils! Every time I see new ones being released I just gravitate towards them because of how convenient they are. Not every brand can perfect the jumbo lip pencil formula, I've tried some great ones and some that I wish I would've returned. But that's the beauty of makeup, it's all trial and error! ;-)
NYX released four intriguing lines of color families with a wide range of shades in each line that would suite so many skin tones! Being that we're in fall it was only right to try out the Simply Vamp Lip Creams first. There's a total of six shades in the line, I purchased two and here are the lip swatches:
NYX Simply Vamp Lip Creams
*Temptress- a deep royal purple, such a gorgeous shade! Lives up to the "vampy" name! It's nicely pigmented and that color is very unique.
*Aphrodisiac- a light brown plum, another different color, really pretty! This one needed to be layered to get the full effect, but beautiful nonetheless!

These are only $6.50 which is a great price! I previously reviewed the NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies which were good but not my favorite chubby pencil. Rest assure that these are a step up from those! The formula is amazing, more on the matte side but not drying! They kinda remind me of the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks but with longer lasting power and... cooler shades!

Bottom line: These are pretty cool lip products! The formula is amazing, you just need to make sure that your lips are dry so it adheres better. I'd say the lasting power is about 4-5 hours which is pretty good. Count on NYX to make some out of the box colors and formulas! Winged liner and these colors will make the perfect fall combo! :-)

Must Haves: NYX Cosmetics Powder Blushes in Dusty Rose & Bordeaux! (Fall Edition!)

Get The Flushed Look!

NYX Cosmetics Powder Blushes in Dusty Rose & Bordeaux! (Fall Edition!)
A few posts ago I hauled a few fall appropriate items, including these blushes. I wanted to follow up with some swatches so you can see how beautiful these colors are! They may seem a bit scary in the pan but trust me when I say they bring your cheeks to life! They are the perfect fall colors and can be sheered out to give you that flushed look that we all crave! :-) I ordered mine directly from the NYX Website for $5 each plus an extra 25% off so very inexpensive.
NYX Cosmetics Powder Blushes in Dusty Rose & Bordeaux! (Fall Edition!)
The packaging is very simple and compact which I love since lets be honest... I'm a blush hoarder so the less bulky the better haha. These blushes are cruelty free products which is also amazing! I find that the NYX Blushes are the easiest to blend from drugstore range. They are silky smooth and richly pigmented so a little goes a long way. Another thing I love about them is that they are long wearing! At the end of the day my blush looks just as vibrant as it did when I first applied it!
Here are the swatches! ;-)
NYX Cosmetics Powder Blush in Dusty Rose
*Dusty Rose- a matte rose pink, super pretty and wearable year round but especially for fall since it wont clash with darker lips! Love it!
NYX Cosmetics Powder Blush in Bordeaux
*Bordeaux- a deep red brown, seems to have shimmers in the pan but on the cheeks it goes on matte. I love this color! This with a simple winged liner and a dark red lip... gorgeous! It's very pigmented so you need to apply it with a light hand but it blends effortlessly.

Bottom line: If you're scared of darker blushes I hope this post inspired you to branch out because once blended these colors look stunning on! I love the NYX formula and how affordable their products are. Sometimes the color swatches on the websites tend to not show up true to color so if you've been wanting these colors I hope the swatches helped as well! These are definitely going to be my go to blushes (including the E.L.F Matte Duo!) for the season and I highly recommend them! :-)
