New From Milani!
Milani released a bunch of new products recently including this one called the Fierce Foil Eye Shines! I was super intrigued because the formula sounded so promising and unique from other shadows in the market. There's four quads in the line and they're priced at $9.99. The price for me is a little high for the amount of shadows. That's why I only picked up one haha. You can find these quads on the Milani Website, CVS, Walgreens and Kmart.I have to give it to Milani on packaging, they always release the sleekest looking products! I love the gold accents, so fancy looking!
So here's a close up of what the shadows look like. They're pretty small compared to the norm. Milani claims that these are a "gloss" formula which is a pretty odd description... nice going Milani because it definetely caught my attention haha. The formula is so weird and not in a great way. Once you dip your finger into the product it just sinks. It's a really creamy, mousy texture that doesn't seem to set at all on the eye. I've heard comparisons made between these and the ColourPop shadows but they are not similar at all. These are just a sheer-ish base of color coated in glitter which for a night out may look amazing but they don't last more than 1-2 hours. I was a bit disappointed with this formula.
The quad comes with this applicator which is made of rubber, great for picking up product. When I was using it I kept a makeup remover wipe next to me to make sure it was clean before dipping into the next color. It's a bit annoying but got the job done. Using your fingers will be more effective at the end of the day.
Here are the swatches. I had to build up the lighter colors a bit to make them visible. The darker shades are decent when swatched but on the eye they just move around so they don't end up looking like this at all.
Bottom line: I wasn't a fan of this at all. At first it seemed promising but after 2 hours it looked like a hot mess. It creased so much and the color faded, all that was left were the glitters. I wore it over primer and that didn't help either. I would skip on these quads, I just can't think of a way to make them work. If you're interested in trying Milani eyeshadows the Bella Eyes Shadows are absolutely amazing! :-)
