New From bh Cosmetics!

bh Party Girl After Hours Palette
Every time bh Cosmetics comes out with new products I'm always so tempted to give them a try! You can find everything from blushes, eye shadows, lipsticks and much more on bhcosmetics.com. As soon as I saw the bh Party Girl After Hours Palette I placed an order! It retails for for $19.95 but at the time it was on sale for less than $10 which was an amazing deal. The colors in the palette just spoke to me, they seemed so vivid and bright! Here's what the palette looks like:

The packaging is super cute and glamorous! It's a thick cardboard with a magnetic closure. The shadows are about the size of a dime and there's four special colors called "diamond shades" which are full of glitter. This palette would be perfect for special occasions because the the possibilities for looks is endless! Here's a closeup of the colors:

The shade range is awesome but some finishes are better formulated than others. The diamond shades are amazing. I did have difficulty with some of the matte shades showing up. In the pan some of the colors felt so hard which made it difficult to pick up product with a brush. The metallic and shimmer shades were buttery smooth and easy to work with. Overall, I do believe that you need a good color base to be able to use the palette to its full potential. If not, the colors would just look muted and dull which for the Party Girls that's not the look you're going for haha. Here are the swatches by row:

This first row had a few matte shades that were a bit on the dry side. The last three colors are super gorgeous though, especially that orange/brown matte shade (perfect for blending)! The last shade was an awesome highlight shade too. I just which the colorful colors worked just as well.

The second row was a lot better! That first shade is a great silver color, perfect for smokey look. The matte brown was smoother than the other mattes and a great crease color! The fuchsia and periwinkle shades were my favorites from the row because they're so unique and amazing lid colors!

The third row is my favorite as a whole, all the colors were smooth and pigmented! I'm loving the last three colors! The diamond shades in this row work really well. They would make amazing lid shades to brighten up a dark look!

This last row had the prettiest purple shade of the bunch! The black shade next to it was not that pigmented. The blue color towards the end looked darker in the pan but it's also a great shade.

Bottom line: The palette is a mix of hit and miss textures but the colors that do work they are amazing! For the price its a great palette! It's definitely not a palette for everyday use due to the color selection but for those night outs it would get the job done. With a great color base you shouldn't have an issue using the palette. Overall I give it a B! ;-)
